Characteristics and description of tomato varieties Phenicia red (yellow, orange, Siberian) F1, its yield

Semi-determinant, medium late variety. The plant is small, the brush is simple, contains 6-8 fruits. Tastes of fruits are excellent. It is recommended for the fresh use, processing, conservation.

The value of the variety: harmonious ripening, consistently high yield, excellent taste and technological qualities, resistance to adverse conditions.

Agrotechnology:

Sowing on seedlings in mid-March. Picks in the phase of 1-2 true leaves. Seedlings are fed 2-3 times with full fertilizer. 7-10 days before planting, the seedlings begin to harden. Planting seedlings - in the middle of May under the film, in early June - in the open ground. The seedling age is 60-65 days (in the phase of five or seven true leaves). Plants need regular watering, weeding, loosening and feeding.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages of this hybrid:

  • excellent yield,
  • the fruits are very sweet and tasty
  • the variety is frost resistant
  • transportable,
  • Tomatoes lie for about 2 months and do not lose their excellent taste,
  • has immunity to diseases
  • just care
  • quite a long season of picking tomatoes.

From small minuses:

  • tomatoes ripen quite late - they begin to collect from July 25,
  • if the weather is cool, the number of formed ovaries is sharply reduced.

Planting seeds

The boxes are filled with sand, peat, garden soil with the addition of superphosphate, potassium and ash. If you have prepared the mixture yourself, then roast it for an hour in the oven at 200 ° C to eliminate pathogenic fungi and bacteria.

Seeds are sown in boxes in early March. First put in a bag of gauze and lowered for 20 minutes. in a solution of 1 tsp of potassium permanganate and 1 liter of pure water. Seeds are buried in the soil to a depth of 1 cm.

Watered planting spray, cover with foil. Before the first shoots, it is required to place the boxes in a room with an air temperature of about +23 ° C. When sprouts appear, the film is removed.

When 1 to 2 true leaves grow, dive seedlings into separate peat cups. Be sure to lengthen their daylight hours, illuminating the tomatoes with lamps.

For the first time, feed 10 days after emergence. Pour 100 g of bird droppings or 300 g of manure into a ten-liter bucket of water. Leave for a day. A day later, water the seedlings under the root, trying not to fall on the leaves, as this can cause burns.

60 - 65 days after sowing seeds, seedling cultivation is continued in open ground or in a greenhouse.

Planting seedlings in the ground

Prepare the soil in autumn. For 1 m² of clay or loam, scatter 3 buckets of soil mixed from equal parts of peat, humus and sawdust. If you have peat, then for 1 m² pour 3 buckets of the composition of 2 parts of humus, 2 parts of sod, 2 parts of sawdust and 1 part of sand, tsp of double superphosphate and 2 tbsp. spoons ash. Dig the ground, pulling out weeds and digging up the roots.

In late May or early June, plant seedlings in a permanent place. Dig holes so that when planting seedlings place 3 plants per 1 m². Pour hot water over the wells, then drive in the pegs, then plant the seedlings, cover with soil. Next, tie up the bushes. Saplings need a daytime air temperature of +20 - 22 ° C, and at night - not less than 18 ° C.

Variety loves moisture, water it with warm, settled water in the evening. Especially watering is important before the blooming of buds, with flowering and fruit pouring. Loosen the ground after watering very carefully, so as not to damage the root system.

Water at least 2 times in 14 days, adding diluted mullein or bird droppings to the water. Instead of organic matter, you can add complex mineral fertilizers.

After the formation of ovaries, stop feeding with nitrogen. Bushes stepson. You can leave 1 - 2 stepson below the bush, they will ovary. Begin harvesting on July 15, when the tomatoes are technically ripe, as the tomatoes ripen quietly during storage.

Pests and diseases

Observe a crop rotation, in an open ground plant seedling on a new place every 2 - 3 years. Plant tomatoes in the area where they grew lettuce, parsley, mustard, beans.

Tomato is resistant to major diseases, but for prevention it is advised to change the top layer of the earth in a greenhouse 10 cm thick each year. Spill the remaining soil with a solution of copper sulphate. For the prevention of the attack of pests, thrash the ground under the bushes with peat, straw. After watering carefully loosen the ground. Spray the plants with warm water. Ventilate the greenhouse every day. If you still find pests, it is better to spray tomatoes with safe biologics.

Variety varieties Phenicia and reviews

Reviews of tomato date red exclusively positive. Here is what Tatyana from the Moscow Region writes about tomatoes: “I bought seeds from the company Russian Garden. Soot this variety annually. The fruits are small, sweet, lie for a long time because of the excellent separation from the stem and the high density of the skin, the dessert taste during storage remains. ”

The tomato of the cultivar Date orange is bred, the fruits of which are orange-colored. The shape of the tomatoes is similar to the variety dates Red, oval-oblong with a sharp tip.

There is also a tomato variety Phenic yellow F1, it can be planted at home on the windowsill. Fruits have lemon color. The taste of the sweet tomatoes of the cultivar Date dates a little less than that of the tomatoes cultivars date red. But the flesh has shades of raisins, ripened plums and honey aftertaste.

Tomato Phenic Siberian F1 differs from other varieties in that its fruits ripen 10 days earlier. Characteristic of tomatoes: contains about 10% of sugars. These tomatoes can be planted in pots, where the height of the bush reaches 50 cm. They are planted in Siberia in greenhouses. Planting seeds, transplanting seedlings and caring for bushes in these varieties of tomatoes are identical.

Small-sized tomatoes of the Pate Date variety are very popular with children, who love them for their sweet dessert taste and similarity to the fruits of dates. It is easy and simple to look after tomatoes of varieties of dates.

Hybrid advantages

Tomatoes Phenicio red - the result of the work of Russian agrobiologists. The basis for the development of a hybrid with an exceptional sweetness of small fruits were cherry tomatoes.

The hybrid with an average late ripening period is characterized by a long fruiting period. Shrubs of a semi-determinant type reach a height of 150 cm during the growing season. There are standard stem varieties up to 90 cm high.

The plant is characterized by a moderate number of leaves and side branches. Tomatoes ripen with brushes. Description of the variety indicates the possibility of cultivating the plant in greenhouses, greenhouses in greenhouses. In the southern regions with a warm and temperate climate, bushes are grown under film covers.

Pomeranian tomatoes have an elongated oval shape with a pointed spout. In the phase of technical ripeness, tomatoes acquire a bright red color. With a horizontal cut, small chambers with seeds are observed.

Characteristic and description of the fruit indicates the possibility of long-term storage and transportation over distances. Ripe tomatoes have a rich sweet taste with a slight fruity flavor. Ripe tomatoes are distinguished by a subtle, recognizable aroma.

Fruits with dense, very juicy pulp. On a break in a tomato sugar structure. The mass of fruits reaches 20 g. Tomatoes are used to make salads, dishes for a buffet table.

Sweet tomato suitable for baby and diet food. Fruits of small size with a dense skin can be salted, prepare a mixture of vegetable platter. When canning tomatoes retain their shape and attractive appearance.

Reviews vegetable growers indicate the popularity of the hybrid. Among gardeners, tomato is valued for its high yield, taste, resistance to diseases of solanaceous crops.

general information

Since the market is replete with bags of "dates", of course people are buying. Moreover, sown seeds and grown plants from one, give good yields of tasty and sweet tomatoes, which are quite satisfied with vegetable growers, while others still have much to be desired.

Perhaps sometime, they will carry out trials and introduce such a “miracle” into the registry, but for the time being we will be content with what the “craftsmen” have produced in the field of seed packaging.

Description of the series

If we consider all possible options for tomato dates on the market, we can find common features for the entire series:

  • Small-fruited (up to 50 g),
  • Oval, ovoid or obovate,
  • Abundance of fruits
  • Semi-determinantness of whether the vegetative form is indeterminant.

Grown bushes of tomato-dates, if you are lucky to become the owner of good seeds, can amaze and delight the vegetable grower with the beauty of their bush. Red and yellow candle tomatoes hang in clusters from low-leafed bushes.

These tomatoes are good and in a tin can. Vegetable growers who love the exotic and who know a lot about cooking constantly search for interesting forms and in this regard, dates are quite appropriate.

These varieties are popular in Europe. Although dates are not called, but small, oval, cocktail tomatoes are present at any meal.

A vegetable plate with colorful tomatoes can be a decoration for any table. Picking up very small tomatoes can be combined with olives and olives, which also looks interesting.

Characteristics and description of tomato varieties Phenicia red (yellow, orange, Siberian) F1, its yield

Date tomatoes are bred by crossing cherry tomatoes. There are several different types: Phenic yellow F1, Purik orange F1, Phenicia Siberian F1.

Hybrid Phenicia red F1, variety description: medium late, refers to semi-determinant. This means that the main stem stops growing after 8 to 12 inflorescences have formed. The first inflorescence grows on the main stem over 7 - 9 leaves. Such plants have short internodes, that is, the distance between the brushes is 12–18 cm, whereas in indeterminate varieties it is 25–30 cm.

The bushes are up to 1.5 m high, but they can grow more compact, up to 90 cm. The shrubs are moderately leafy, and 6–8 fruits ripen in the hand.

The variety has a long period of fruiting, the fruits are harvested from July until the end of September. The tomato is intended for landing in the greenhouse, in the southern areas it can be planted under a film.

Fruits in the form of elongated ovals have a pointed tip. Fully ripened tomatoes scarlet. The skin is dense, does not crack, because of this they are easy to transport, tomatoes are well stored. Mass of medium-sized fruit up to 20 g. To taste the fruit is sweet, has a delicate aroma. Tomatoes are put in salads, canned, dried, used in diet and baby food.

Characteristics and description

The company "Russian garden", which has filed on the market of this "date" describes the hybrid as a semi-determinant. However, the tomato date red f1 in reviews is listed as tall, indeterminant, reaching heights of 180 or even more centimeters. Some, describing these tomatoes compare them with tomato-octopus.

Describing the form should be said that it is not unambiguous. One shrub, and even one tomato cluster can bear the fruits of a round classical form, oval, ovoid and obovate. This feature does not upset vegetable growers at all, since it is easy to calibrate them in shape.

The size of the tomatoes is also not uniform. At the time of ripening, one tomato may be 15 g in weight, the other 7-8 g. But in color, they will all be uniform, scarlet, saturated color.

At the cut, two nests with fine seeds are clearly visible. Seed nests are not filled with pulp, and the juice is almost clear.

Tomato fruits are collected in brushes. Harvesting can be carried out with brushes, since ripening proceeds evenly, and all fruits have approximately the same degree of maturity.

Advantages and disadvantages

Among the advantages of vegetable growers identified the following:

  • high yield
  • good disease resistance
  • great taste
  • good keeping quality
  • interesting shape of the fruit.

The disadvantage of the variety can be considered re-grading. However, this is most likely a human factor, and not a property of a variety.

But later ripening is really considered a disadvantage of the variety, since late autumn it is necessary to pluck completely green tomato brushes and measure them indoors. However, this can be wrapped up to their advantage. Many vegetable growers note the fact that tomatoes on a brush have very good keeping quality. They can be kept in a cool, but dry place for 1.5, and then 2 months.

Features of growing varieties

"Red date", being late, needs early sowing. When choosing a date you need to stop at the beginning of March.

After preparing the soil, the seeds are sown and sent to a warm place. Shoots appear quickly and together. Since at the beginning of March there is not enough daylight, it is necessary to light up.

The seedling period does not differ from all other varieties, but when a plant is being transplanted, it is necessary to maintain a distance of 35-40 cm. The plant is formed into two shoots.

Since the tomato, although with small fruits, is very fruitful, it requires regular dressings:

  1. The first in 2-3 weeks after disembarkation. It feeds with a solution of nitrogenous mineral fertilizers (2 tablespoons of carbamide per bucket of water),
  2. The second after 2 weeks with a solution of organic matter (1 kg of manure per bucket of water),
  3. Third in 2 weeks. On a bucket of water 1 tbsp. spoon of ammonium nitrate and 1 tbsp. spoon superphosphate,
  4. The fourth and subsequent with an interval of 2 weeks with a solution of organic fertilizers.

In August, feeding stops.

Variety description

Tomato "Date Yellow" has a semi-determinant shrub. Plant mid-late ripening. The leaf shape is weak, and the leaf plate itself is shallow and light green.

Fruits are not large, equal in size and shape. Oval fine cream has a weight of up to 20 g. Tomatoes are tied up on a simple sour 6-8 pieces.

When cut, you can see two nests filled with saturated pulp.

The taste of tomatoes is very rich, sweet, without cloying.

"Sweet date"

Since there are no varieties of dates in the registry, experienced dealers solve the problem in their own way. It is not always bad, but vegetable growers are confused in varieties and hybrids.

Vegetable growers, growing tomato “Sweet date”, the description of which completely coincides with the hybrid of “Cherriliz F1”, came to the conclusion that this is the brainchild of the company “Semko-Junior”, Moscow Russia.

The hybrid was entered into the register in 2010 and is recommended for cultivation under film covers.

Appearance of tomato "Red Phenice" look at the photo below:

Advantages and disadvantages

Hybrid Phenic Red is very popular among amateur gardeners. Among pros most often noted:

  • excellent yield,
  • tasty sweet fruits suitable for salads and canning
  • disease resistance
  • undemanding to conditions of detention
  • long period of fruiting.

Among the minor deficiencies:

  • late ripening, the first fruits are harvested towards the end of July,
  • the variety tolerates frost well, but in cold weather the number of fruit ovaries decreases.

Tomato cherry classification

First of all, there are so-called technical ones - suitable for canning, and table or salad varieties. Recent varieties, in turn, are divided into the following groups:

  • cocktail tomatoes - fruit diameter from 3 to 4 cm, the taste is bright, rich, it can be vegetable, that is, slightly sour and fruity, with a high content of fructose,
  • Cherry - half the size of cocktails and definitely much sweeter - the sweetest of the whole group,
  • Kleisters - small-fruited tomatoes of the brush type, all fruits on a hand ripen at once,
  • currant tomatoes - it is in them most of all from wild tomato, including the sizes, they gave the name to the group, they are not bigger than the large currant.

In each group, except the latter, a large variety of colors, shapes and flavors. By type of growth, different varieties are different. The size of the bush is the most diverse - from three-meter giants to crumbs that grow well even in a flower pot.

The history of the appearance of cherry tomatoes

The history of the appearance of cherry-type tomatoes is interesting and controversial. Most often, their homeland is called Israel. There were experiments on the creation of varieties that are best suited for growing in hot climates. The result of the selection work was the first cultivated varieties of cherry tomatoes. But in various sources there are references to small-fruited tomatoes brought from America at the end of the XVI century. Until the end of the 70s of the last century, cherry tomatoes were not common and were grown only in some regions. They grew particularly well on the Greek island of Santorini, where unique climatic conditions for their growth were established. Now the most famous chefs in various countries of the world cannot do without these tomatoes. And they were started by Israeli breeders who created the first commercial variety for the company. "Marks & Spenser". It happened in 1973

Cherry Tomato Formation

Formation of cherry tomatoes involves the regulation of the load by the fruits by removing excess shoots or stepsons. Such a shoot grows from each leaf sinus. Remove them on the stump height of about 3 cm. It is also necessary to lighten the bush after the brush begins to sing. To do this, remove the leaves that are under it, doing it in several stages. An important operation is pinching the top of the stem or pinching. It is necessary so that all the tomatoes have time to fully form and ripen. Produce it a month before the temperature begins to fall below plus 8 degrees.

Care and formation for each group of varieties will be their own. But there are common features that need to be considered.

  • Cherry tomatoes tend to give a lot of stepsons, so the tomato strawling should be thorough and regular,
  • The harvest of small-fruited tomatoes is less than that of their large-fruited counterparts, but this is more than compensated for by the tremendous taste of cherry tomatoes, when choosing the type of formation this should be taken into account,
  • The stem of this variety of tomatoes is thinner than that of large-fruited varieties, while in Indians it has a lianoid shape. Be sure to tie up all types of cherry tomatoes. Tapestries for them should be located more often than for large-fruited varieties.
  • Cherry tomato bush can bear fruit for up to 6 months if suitable conditions are created for it.

To plant tomatoes at such facilities earlier is possible, and they end the growing season later than in film greenhouses.

Low-growing tomatoes

Low-growing cherry tomatoes can be attributed to the determinant type. Therefore, their formation is carried out in the same way as all determinants. Among the determinant varieties and hybrids of cherry tomatoes stands out a special group with miniature bush sizes. They look like standard tomatoes and are essentially theirs. The number of brushes on the main stem is not more than 3, the stepsons are very few. Bushes are compact and almost do not branch.

In the formation of these babies do not need. The most common and most cultivated varieties: Pinocchio, Children's sweet, Bonsai, Pygmy, Balcony miracle - have red fruits, Garden Pearl - with pink tomatoes, Golden bunch - ampel tomato with yellow-orange fruits. These varieties cannot boast of a big harvest, but they ripen very early, some already 3 months after the first shoots.

The next group is real determinants, whose growth ranges from 50 cm to 1 m. Their formation is the same as that of large-fruited determinant varieties.

  • In one stem. All stepchildren break off, fruiting is only due to the formation of floral brushes on the main shoot. Such tomatoes will ripen earlier, but the harvest will not be very big.
  • In two stalks. One is the main stem, the second is the stepson before the first flower brush. It is recommended to nip it after the third flower brush has been formed, leaving two sheets above it.
  • If the summer is hot, you can carry these tomatoes in three stalks, the third will be the stepson above the first floral brush.

The scheme of the formation of tomato cherry in one, two and three stalks.

Among the determinant varieties of cherry are the following:

Hybrid of cocktail tomato with early ripening. Fruits are red. Pasyon moderately. Height 60 cm

Honey Candy F1

Medium and early maturity hand hybrid gives plum-like fruits of yellow-orange color. The height of the bush about a meter. Formed in two or three stalks.

Early-medium hybrid. Fruits are round red. Height is 1 m. The bush is powerful, it is better to lead in two stalks.

Medium Tomatoes

Such plants are prone to the premature completion of the growth of the main stem, i.e., cutting. The formation of such tomatoes can be carried out in one or two stems, but with the obligatory leaving of the reserve stepchild to which it will be possible to transfer the growth of the tomato with its premature picking. Reserve stepchild left under each newly formed brush, removing the previous one.

The best semi determinant varieties and hybrids of cherry tomatoes:

Tall or indeterminate tomatoes

Such cherry tomatoes in a greenhouse can grow up to 3 m. Most often they are formed into 1-2 stems. But the greatest yield can be obtained when forming in 3 or even 4 stems, which is possible only in regions with warm and long summer. Pinching greenhouse cherry tomatoes spend later than in the open field.

All the other stepchildren need to break out. How to care for cherry tomatoes, you can see on the video:

Varieties of tall cherry tomatoes:

This group of varieties is the most numerous.

Barberry F1

It grows up to 2 m high. Early ripe variety with long fruiting period. Fruits oval beautiful pink color and very good taste. Form in 2 or 3 stalks.

Early wrist cultivar with lianoid stem. Red-colored round fruits have a small weight, only 10 g, which is compensated by their number in the brush - up to 40 pieces. Formed in 2 stalks.

Honey drop

Medium early Indet with very sweet fruits of yellow color in the form of a pear. The number of fruits in the brush to 25. Potato leaf. Forms a lot of stepsons. Form into 2 stalks.

Mid-season indet with very beautiful elongated fruits. Their color is pink-yellow with inconspicuous stripes. In taste there are fruit notes. Form into 4 stalks.

Among cherry tomatoes there are champions who form huge brushes, the number of flowers in them reaches 300. A blooming tomato of this type is an amazing sight. These tomatoes are gradually eaten and on one brush there are both flowers and ripe fruits. Such tomatoes are inditemi. It is necessary to form them in one stem, leaving no more than 3 brushes.

Varieties: Necklace red and yellow.

Date Tomatoes

Tomato Date is a yellow, representing a variety of date series of tomatoes, intended for cultivation in a protected and open ground. The plant of semi-determinant type reaches a height of 120-150 cm.

The best results are achieved with the formation of a bush of 3-4 stems, removal of shoots before the first peduncle. Due to the frequent arrangement of the brushes, the plant is strewn with yellow clusters of berries.

Tomatoes varieties Phenic yellow have an oval shape, glossy and smooth surface. Dense skin protects the fruit from cracking. The mass of tomato reaches 20 g. The hybrid is characterized by a long period of fruiting. Ripe tomatoes can be stored for up to 60 days.

Tomato cultivar Phenicia orange is characterized by a special flavor bouquet, in which there are notes of raisins, ripe plums and honey aftertaste. Oval-shaped fruits with amber pulp, juicy, with a smooth surface.

The mass of tomato reaches 20 g. In the hand, up to 20 berries ripen. The variety is characterized by an average late period of fruiting, an indeterminate type of shrub.

Tomato Phenic Siberian f1 differs early maturity. The berries are shaped like plums, they contain more than 9% of sugars. The hybrid is characterized by abundant yield of harvest, amicable ripening of fruits, weighing 20 g. The height of the bush reaches 50-70 cm.

Agronomic cultivation conditions

For seedlings choose light soil, which includes sand, peat and mixed fertilizer. Growing seedlings begin in early March.

Before laying the seeds are treated with a growth promoter. In the container with the prepared soil, the seed is laid in the ground to a depth of 1 cm. After watering with warm water, the container is covered with a film until the germination.

For the successful development of plants, it is important to provide illumination with a fluorescent lamp. Every week, seedlings are fed with mineral and organic fertilizers, observing the order of application.

Formed seedlings with 1 peduncle transferred to a permanent place. It is better to start transplanting into the ground after the threat of spring frosts has passed. Plants prefer an air temperature of + 20 ... + 22 ° C during the day, with a slight decrease at night.

Hybrid Phenicum is demanding of moisture, so it is recommended to constantly monitor the level of soil moisture. As the surface soil dries, the plants are watered under the root.

As an organic dressing using an aqueous solution of bird droppings. After flowering, fertilization with nitrogen is reduced in order to stimulate the development of fruits to increase the productivity of the plant.

Bushes require the formation, removal of excess shoots. If you wish, you can leave 2-3 additional stems, flower stalks are subsequently formed on them and the brushes with fruits will ripen.

Tomato harvesting can be carried out in the technological ripeness phase. Fruits are perfectly proportioned in the heat, preserving the taste characteristics.

Hybrid Date red is resistant to typical diseases of solanaceous crops. For the prevention of late blight, root rot, fusarium wilt, tobacco mosaic virus annually replace the topsoil in the greenhouse.

Among biological pests, the hybrid is exposed to aphids, whiteflies, moths, slugs. To combat them, they periodically loosen the soil, sprinkle the plants with special preparations, air the greenhouse.

Tomato Date Red: characteristic varieties, reviews of those who planted

The cultivar Date Red is bred by Russian breeders on the basis of crossing with cherry tomatoes. The fruits of this variety are most often used for stand-up meals, their decorations, and also tomatoes are recommended for dietary nutrition. Phenicia Red is suitable for all lovers of small-fruited varieties.

Characteristics of the plant and fruit

The plant bush has the following characteristics:

  • grows in height from 90 cm to 150 cm,
  • requires a garter to support and pasynkovanie,
  • it is recommended to form in two stalks,
  • the number of leaves is moderate.

Fruit characteristics:

  • tomatoes ripen clusters, 6-8 pieces each,
  • at full ripeness they have a bright red color,
  • the weight of one tomato ranges from 20 g,
  • tomatoes have the shape of an elongated oval with a pointed tip, similar to dates,
  • small seed chambers
  • have a recognizable aroma and sweet sugar taste,
  • the pulp is juicy with thick walls and dense skin,
  • plucked fruits are stored for a long time at home.

The main purpose of the variety

Tomatoes Date Red are versatile in use due to the excellent taste. They are used in fresh salads, fruits are ideal for preservation and salting. Tomatoes are also used for baby food. Fruits tend to be long-lasting in an attractive presentation, so tomatoes are often grown for sale, and they are well tolerated for long-term transportation.

Sweet fruits make tasty tomato sauces and juices.

Features agrotehnika

It is recommended to grow up a grade by a seedling method. It is necessary to sow seeds for seedlings in advance, in March, optimally 65 days before the date of planting.

For planting seeds, you should choose a complex mixture of sand, peat, garden soil, ash and mineral fertilizers. Seeds are immersed in the soil to a depth of no more than 1 cm. The plant should be provided with heat (+20 degrees) and good lighting. For rapid germination of seeds, the container must be covered with a film.

Planted in open ground is recommended in the middle / end of May, when night frosts are bypassed, the air temperature should not fall below 18 degrees. Per 1 sq.m. place 3 seedlings.

The plant is very moisture-loving, so the variety requires regular watering with warm water. Do not forget to loosen and mulch the soil and daily air the greenhouse.

Although the variety is resistant to all types of diseases, however, the treatment of plant shrubs from insect pests such as aphids and slugs does not hinder.

Important! Use of insecticides after flowering is strictly prohibited.

I grow this variety every year in polycarbonate greenhouses. I like its sweet taste. Salting with them turns out good. Tomatoes are small, elastic skin, not burst. Variety fructifies even in the first frost.

I like to plant this variety in my plot, as it is completely unpretentious. I grow it through seedlings, then transplant into the ground. Good yield and excellent dessert taste. And the fruits of the house are stored for about 2 months, ripen themselves and do not lose sweetness.

Best of finely fruit varieties that I planted. Firstly, it has high yields for 3 months. I have enough for conservation, and to use fresh another 1.5-2 months after harvest. Secondly, tomatoes look beautiful in dishes and on the table, and have a sweet sugar taste.

A series of varieties of tomato "Phenicia"

Variety Finik was bred in Russia. Its subspecies are the Red Date, the Yellow Date and the Ornazhevy Date. They all belong to cherry tomatoes. All of them are characterized by small sizes of fruits, high palatability, the possibility of cultivation both in the open field and in the greenhouse. At the same time, in temperate latitudes, greenhouse cultivation is more preferable for all three subspecies. The difference between them lies in the color of the fruit, although they all have a rather attractive appearance.

The variety of tomatoes Patel is distinguished by its small size and very peculiar taste. The taste of these tomatoes is generally quite sweet, whereas in shape they resemble Crimean dates.Fruits after harvesting persist for quite a long time and are characterized by good taste in fresh, pickled and salted.

The fruits of this variety belong to the group of F1 hybrids. It is mid-season variety. Often the height of the bush reaches 150 cm, but there are bushes and only 90 cm in height. Such bushes are dwarf and have a compact form. The number of leaves and side shoots is small. Thus, this variety can be considered moderately leafy. One brush usually gives between six and eight ripe tomatoes of medium size.

The variety of tomatoes Phenicus is distinguished by a long fruiting period, the picking of tomatoes continues from July to September. These tomatoes are suitable primarily for greenhouses, but in the southern regions can be planted under the film.

Tomatoes have the shape of an elongated oval with a pointed tip. The finally ripe tomato is scarlet. The skin is quite dense, not subject to cracking, so the fruits easily tolerate transportation and persist for a long time. The average weight of one tomato is 20 g. The taste is rather sweet, the aroma is thin. These tomatoes are used for salads and canning.

Care features

Seeds are sown in boxes in the first days of March. First, they are folded into a gauze bag and dipped for 20 minutes into a solution consisting of one teaspoon of potassium permanganate in one liter of water. Seeds are embedded in the ground, depth - up to 1 cm. Watering is carried out using a spray bottle, the plants are covered with a film. Until the first shoots appear, boxes with seedlings should be placed in a room in which the air temperature is +23. After the sprouts appear, the film is removed. After sprouting one or two true leaves, dive seedlings into peat glasses. It is necessary to increase the duration of their daylight with the help of lamps.

Advantages of cherry and currant tomatoes:

  • very fruitful,
  • fruits of amazing dessert taste, suitable for fresh use and for canning,
  • they can be used in children's and dietary food,
  • they fit perfectly into the smallest jars, which is convenient for single people, and they perfectly fill the voids between the large fruits of tomatoes, cucumbers in family 3-liter jars,
  • fruits are dense, do not crack, 2-chamber,
  • they can be frozen, wilted (especially special varieties 'Yellow date', 'Red date'),

Dried cherry tomatoes. Photo from asienda.ru

  • they can be grown in pots,
  • in the south in open ground, in central Russia - in the greenhouses they are formed into 2 stems and 3-4 plants are planted for 1 m²,
  • not capricious in care,
  • most varieties and hybrids require supports and garters, often without staking,
  • they have almost 100% ovary,
  • very decorative
  • like children.

It seems that they have no flaws, well, except that it is troublesome to collect and process, especially if the family is large, and you make large-scale harvesting, because you have to mess with them longer than with medium-sized and large tomatoes. But, on the other hand, it is possible to involve all family members, except the smallest, in the process of friendly collection and processing. For storage, you can cut off whole brushes and hang them on the rope “upside down” as you dry medicinal herbs and immortal flowers. Remember that only completely ripe fruit taste is bright and good! Moreover, the cherry tomatoes, taken from the bush unripe, are practically not donated, that is, they do not ripen.

Only absolutely ripe fruits of cherry tomatoes taste bright and good.

Opponents of small tomatoes, of course, will act as my opponents, giving such arguments:

  • picking cherry tomatoes, how not cool, time-consuming process,
  • the total weight of the crop from the most prolific bush is still 1.5 times less than that of ordinary varieties.

But I am sure that such trifles will not stop true lovers of cherry tomatoes, and these miniature vegetables will invariably flaunt their dachas every year, giving their owners a unique taste and miniature beauty.
